Samir Satyam is an accomplished finance professional with 25+ years of experience in investments and lending. This spans across promoter financing, special situations funding and alternative investments.

His impressive professional track record includes roles such as Investment Director at Edelweiss Alternative Asset Advisors Ltd where he managed a USD 900 mn Special Opportunities Fund. He was also the Head of Structured & Capital Market Lending at Hero Fincorp Ltd and Business Head of Capital Market Lending at Bajaj Finance Ltd, among others.

He has previously held senior leadership roles as Head - Structured Finance at Hero Fincorp Ltd (Managing ₹4000 cr Book ) and Business Head - Capital Market Lending at Bajaj Finance Ltd, Cholamandalam DBS Finance among others.

Samir holds a PGDBA in Finance from ICFAI Business School and a BA in Economics from Ramjas College, Delhi University.

Kapil Sachdeva is a seasoned investment and credit risk management professional with over 20+ years of experience in Credit and Risk management, Structured financing, Portfolio management & Resolution and Credit Ratings.

His expertise spans across investment lifecycle; origination, risk underwriting and portfolio management. He has worked across asset classes including commercial lending, high yield structured finance and project finance.

He has previously led the Credit Risk Underwriting and Portfolio management positions at Edelweiss, TFCI, Axis Bank and worked with CARE Ratings and Moody’s providing credit coverage for debt/fixed income space.

Kapil holds a PGDM with Major in Finance and Undergraduate in Electronics. He has also completed an Executive Program in Business and Corporate Law from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Chairperson – PL Asset Management

Dr. Punita Kumar Sinha has 30+ years of experience in investment management in emerging and international markets. She is the Founding Partner of Pacific Paradigm Advisors, USA, an independent investment advisory and management firm focused on Asia. She has served on the boards of Infosys Limited, Fairfax India Fund, Blackstone Embassy REIT, JSW Steel Limited, Lupin Limited, to name a few. She is also on the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute and has also served as Chairperson of InCred AMC.

Prior to founding Pacific Paradigm Advisors, she was a Senior Managing Director of Blackstone and the Chief Investment Officer of Blackstone Asia Advisors. She was also the Senior Portfolio Manager and CIO for The India Fund, the largest India Fund in the US, for almost 15 years, The Asia Tigers Fund, and The Asia Opportunities Fund.

She holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; CFA Charter holder; completed chemical engineering with distinction from IIT Delhi.

AIFs are privately pooled investment vehicles that collect funds from sophisticated investors to invest in a variety of non-traditional assets, including venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, pre-IPO, and debt instruments. AIFs are regulated by the SEBI. It’s for ultra HNI and HNI investors seeking exclusive investment opportunities for higher returns.  

It is an avenue for investors to go beyond the ordinary and access opportunities not available in traditional markets to a common investor.

A Performing Credit Fund is a type of private credit vehicle that provides flexible, secured lending to companies with strong credit profiles. It focuses on delivering steady and superior returns while minimizing risk through rigorous credit evaluation and asset-backed lending.

Private credit refers to capital that private funds loan to businesses through direct lending or structured finance arrangements. In India, it is operated under the AIF mechanism and is regulated by SEBI AIF Regulations (2012).

Private credit deals are privately negotiated, and generally have flexibility in payment, security and returns and at the same time are capable of handling complexity, and focused asset management.

Category I: Invests in start-up or early-stage ventures or social ventures or SMEs or infrastructure. Includes venture capital funds, SME funds, social venture funds, infrastructure funds, angel funds

Category II: Includes private equity funds or debt funds for which no specific incentives or concessions are given by the government or any other regulator.

Category III: Includes hedge funds or funds, which trade for short term returns, or open-ended funds, for which no specific incentives or concessions are given by the government or any other regulator.

AIFs are typically suitable for ultra high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), HNIs, family offices, banks, insurance companies, corporate treasuries, and other sophisticated investors looking for higher returns and portfolio diversification.
